Do you need a tool which increases your pupil’s self-motivation?
How to motivate children to learn new social skill?
In my work with families I was often faced with the challenge of how to motivate children to learn new social skills and increase their self-confidence. Moreover, I wanted to understand how to make their progress visible. I guess I’m not the only one struggling. What about you? Do you need a tool which increases your pupil’s self-motivation?
It’s not always easy to be motivated to make changes or learn new skills. Let me give an example: Have you ever tried to make changes in your lifestyle? I have, and it is not always easy. If my husband tells me I should go for a walk three times a week, I bet I’ll never do it! But if I decide to do something I really enjoy, like going to salsa lessons, It’s more likely I will reach my goal of feeling physically and mentally better.
Lack of commitment means lack of motivation also in learning. If the teacher’s targets and the pupils’ goals don’t meet, poor motivation leads to failure.
LivingSkills is a right tool to increase motivation
LivingSkills is a digital motivational tool for teacher-pupil interaction and performance-based work.

Our customers in Family Services tell us how the digital tools by LivingSkills have changed their way of working and their roles as professionals. The children are empowered to manage their own skill learning. The role of an adult is to be a coach and help the child to reach their own goals by emphasizing their strengths.
Caretakers and parents get a deep sense of satisfaction from seeing how children with special needs succeed in achieving the goals they have set for themselves. Children gain self-confidence and learn new skills, which facilitate learning and coping at school, creating a more grounded and calmer atmosphere in the classroom too.
What helps you to show the impact of your service?
When working for the City of Tampere as a purchaser of social and health services, I noticed that it is not easy to compare services across very different client groups. There just wasn’t a tool for it. Until we invented a solution that makes comparing easy. LivingSkills visualizes performance differences between units and helps to identify the challenges and strength of those units for management purposes. How cool is that!
The LivingSkills tools and methods were initially developed with the social and health care services in Finland in mind. Within a year we had had our first school and day-care pilots with teachers, who wanted to help children identify their strengths and practice their emotional and social skills by using the LivingSkills digital tool.
